About Bucknell
• The Bucknell men's track & field team is in its final week of competition before the 2022 Outdoor Patriot League Championships on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7. The Bison will take part in both the Penn Relays and the Maroon & Gold Invite at Bloomsburg. This will be Bucknell's first time back at the Penn Relays since 2019 after it was canceled the last two years due to the pandemic. This is the 126th running of the Penn Relays.
• The Bison placed second of 10 at the Bucknell Team Challenge and saw four event victories last weekend.
• Noah Martin grabbed a win in the 3000 steeplechase with a 9:12.97, and three other Bison scored in the event.
• Bucknell was also strong in the hammer throw, as John Calisi (182-10) and Robert Feeney (176-3) placed first and second, respectively. Calisi's mark was less than a foot outside of Bucknell's all-time top 10 list.
• The Bison had an all-around successful day in field events, as Grant Ellis and Ian Lawrence picked up wins in the high jump and the triple jump. Ellis cleared 6-7 in the high jump to score 10 points, and Lawrence's 46-5.5 in the triple jump was a new personal best.
• Anthony Zamarra placed third in the shot put with an impressive 54-8.25, which was just shy of the mark he set at the Bison Outdoor Classic (54-9.25) that ranks second in the Bucknell record book.
• Bucknell's fastest 4x100 relay team this season (Kevin Boyle, Matthew Perello, Brian Scotto, Brandon Foust) ran a 43.05 this past weekend. It's fasted 4x400 team (Rayven Sample, Thomas Matsumura, Alex Simpson, Colby Belczyk) posted a 3:21.44 at the Bison Outdoor Classic.
