Softball Hosts Pitt at Becker Field for Final Non-League Contest

About Bucknell
• Bucknell plays its final non-league game of the 2022 season when the Pitt Panthers of the Atlantic Coast Conference visit Becker Field. Four of Bucknell's five wins this season have come from non-league play.
• The Bison are 2-7 when playing at home this season. Bucknell has lost five in a row at home but defeated Saint Peter's at Becker Field back on April 5.
• The Bison went 0-3 at Colgate over the weekend. Two of the three losses came down to the wire and were by one run each. Six of Bucknell's 11 Patriot League losses have been by a single run.
• Kailyn Lorberter, Chase Knapp, Zoie Smith and Ava Aguilar all posted multiple hits over the weekend, and both of Smith's hits in game two went for doubles. Additionally, Annabella Hawkins added two of the team's four RBIs vs. Colgate.
• Nicole Rivait remains Bucknell's leader in batting average (.322), hits (38), doubles (8) and RBIs (10).
• Bucknell is hitting .211 as a team, and four Bison are hitting .250 or higher.
• Senior Kelly Toomey allowed just one hit through the first five and a half innings on Sunday and only three total in the game. Toomey has a season ERA of 4.08 and a team-best 68 strikeouts. As a team, the Bison own a 4.82 ERA.
• Prior to Tuesday's game the softball program is honoring two special members of the Bison Athletics family, who as cancer survivors represent those who remain steadfast in their quest to defeat cancer. Former Bucknell women's soccer coach and current Associate Dean of Admissions Chrissy Findlay and Bucknell Athletics Hall-of-Famer and former head softball coach Terrie Grieb will both be throwing out first pitches.
Scouting Pitt
• The Panthers are 14-21 overall and 2-14 in the ACC. Pitt is coming off a 1-2 weekend against Boston College.
• Saint Francis, Notre Dame and Penn State are the three common opponents Pitt and Bucknell have shared this season. Both teams went 1-5 against that group.
• Pitt is hitting .257 as a team this season. Senior Yvonne Whaley (.333) and sophomore Cami Compson (.303) are both hitting over .300 and each have 30+ hits.
• The Panthers own a 4.44 team ERA, led by redshirt freshman Dani Drogemuller (3.29). Drogemuller is 8-10 on the season with a save and a team-high 138 strikeouts thrown.
Series History with Pitt
• Bucknell is 2-1 all-time against the Panthers, dating back to 2008. The two teams last met in 2016 and split an April doubleheader. This will be the first time Pitt has visited Becker Field.
• The Panthers won the first game in 2016 9-0 by out-hitting the Bison 13-3. Bucknell came back and won 5-4 in the second game, taking the lead with a two-run homer in the top of the sixth.

Bucknell plays its final home series of the season this weekend when Lehigh visits Becker Field. The teams are slated for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 23 and a single game on Sunday, April 24.
