About the Bison
• The Bucknell men's track & field team opens its outdoor season this weekend with two meets at different locations. Some athletes will be attending the Jim Taylor Invite, hosted by Susquehanna University, which begins with just a few events on Friday and continues into Saturday. Others will travel to the Navy Invite in Annapolis for its first meet of the outdoor season.
• Bucknell is coming off an indoor season in which the team saw a fifth-place finish at the Patriot League championships. The Bison took first of six at the Gulden Invitational in its other scored meet during the season.
• The Bison have seven meets over six weekends leading up to the 2022 Outdoor Patriot League Championships, which take place on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7. Bucknell placed third at the 2021 outdoor championships.
• Bucknell saw a number of standout performances during the 2022 indoor season and five made marks on the all-time top 10 list. Notable among the group was sophomore Robert Feeney, who earned All-East honors at the IC4A meet in weight throw and posted the eighth-best mark (58-8) in school history during the season. Also earning All-East honors was junior Franco Perinotti, who took seventh at the meet with a 15-5.
• Sophomore Ethan Wolford-Tuffy looks to continue his success in the 400 this spring after placing fourth at the indoor championships and recording the ninth-best time (48.91) in the event during the winter. Wolford-Tuffy was also part of Bucknell's 4x400 team that took third at the indoor championships.
• Another member of the Bison's strong 4x400 team was rookie Colby Belczyk, who also recorded the fourth-best 800 time (1:51.40) in the program's history.
• Also showing promise from the rookie class was Brian Scotto in the hurdles. Scotto shined in the 60m hurdles and ranks fifth all-time in the event with an 8.21 he ran at the Bison Open.
Coach Donner's Take
"We are always excited to get the outdoor season rolling, and although the coaches are not concerned with times and distances because of the layoff, having three other Patriot League teams including the defending champions in Navy at the meet puts the stakes a bit higher than a normal early-season rust buster," said head coach Kevin Donner. "The league meet is at Navy, and we want to familiarize ourselves with the facility, the surroundings, and of course compete against good competition. We are also taking some athletes to Susquehanna, and this gives everyone on our team an opportunity to get in an early-season rust buster and opportunities to compete, which is an important part of our program. This will give the athletes an opportunity to prove themselves to make a travel squad for next week's Colonial Relays at William & Mary.

Bucknell returns to the annual Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. The meet is scheduled for Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4.
