LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell volleyball's Tijana Kostic has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for a second time in a row, the league office announced on Monday. Kostic registered a career-high 19 kills along with six block assists to lead the Bison to a win over Navy Sunday evening.
Kostic's 19 kills came on 46 total attempts, and she posted just five errors for a .304 hitting percentage. It was the third straight match that Kostic has led the team in kills. The Burr Ridge, Ill. native also supplied two of Bucknell's 13 service aces and a pair of digs in the team's first win over Navy since 2015.
Kostic now has 44 kills and 17 block assists over her last three matches. Her nine block assists against Loyola last Saturday, which helped her earn her first PL Rookie of the Week award, were one shy of the program's single-match record.
Going back even further, Kostic is averaging 3.1 kills and a block per set over the last five matches.
Bucknell has now collected six Patriot League Rookie of the Week awards this season between Kostic's two and Bri Frazilus' four.
