LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell volleyball's Lisa Zoch has been named the first Bison Athlete of the Week for the 2021-22 academic year. Zoch posted a pair of double-doubles and set a new career high in kills during a 2-1 weekend for the volleyball team at the Delaware State Invitational. Zoch was also named to the All-Tournament Team following the final matches.
Zoch's strongest performance of the weekend came in the season-opening win over St Francis Brooklyn. She led all players with a career-best 21 kills with just four errors for a .415 hitting percentage. She added 13 digs on the defensive side as well.
The junior led the team in kills (13) again in Saturday's match against Delaware State and registered 12 more digs for her second double-double of the weekend and the seventh of her career. She also recorded a block assist and a block solo in the match.
Zoch supplied nine more digs in Saturday's 3-0 win over Saint Peter's, bringing both her digs and kills totals to 34 for the weekend. She also had four assists over the weekend.
The Columbia, Md. native was one of five Bison to post a hitting percentage above .400 in one of the first three matches. She was joined on the All-Tournament Team by first-year libero Jordan Hardy. Hardy, a native of Winter Park, Fla., led the team with 44 total digs over the weekend, including a high of 19 in the win over the Terriers. She also accounted for five service aces and four assists at the tournament.
Zoch and Bison hit the road again this weekend to take part in the Penn Invitational. The Bison open the tournament against the hosting Quakers on Friday, Sept. 3.
