LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell women's tennis junior Daniela Bellini was one of six players voted to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, as was announced by the league office on Friday. Bellini was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team earlier in the week, and this is her first time receiving All-Academic honors.
Bellini, a computer engineering major from Tierra Verde, Fla., owns a 3.65 cumulative grade-point average and has landed on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll every year. Within the Bucknell women's tennis program, she was named the team's Scholar-Athlete of the Year last year and has played in the top singles position throughout much of collegiate career.
Playing every match at No. 1, Bellini posted a 4-3 singles record and a 6-4 doubles mark this spring. She's totaled 36 singles wins in her career and has 31 doubles victories. Bellini went 14-6 in No. 1 singles as a rookie, earning First Team All-Patriot League honors.
Off the court, Bellini has served as a women's tennis representative on Bucknell's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, a treasurer for the Bucknell Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and as a research assistant in the environmental engineering department.
Bellini represents the only rising senior currently on the Bucknell women's tennis roster.
