Jess Hom Voted to Softball Academic All-Patriot League Team

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell softball senior Jess Hom has been announced as one of 12 players to receive Patriot League Academic All-League status on Monday. It's the second time in Hom's career she's received the honor, and Bucknell has had at least one player recognized every year since the creation of the award in 2011.
Hom, a psychology major with a sociology minor, sports a 3.85 cumulative grade-point average as well as a host of extra-curricular activities on her resume. Hom has been an active member of Bucknell's Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society, a member of the Bucknell Athletics Leadership Institute, and a part of the Bison Athletes of Color group. She's also served as a Mellon Collaborative Research Fellow in the Bucknell Humanities Center and is a senior team captain.
On the field, Hom appeared in every game this season and started 29 of 30. She finished fourth on the Bison roster with 19 hits, including a pair of doubles. Hom was also second on the team with 12 walks and showed off solid play in the field at both second base and in the outfield. She posted three multi-hit games this spring, including a 3-for-3 outing at Lehigh.
Hom was a 2019 Second Team All-Patriot League selection and has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll every year. She ends her career with 102 starts, 86 hits and a .287 career average at the plate.
Lehigh's Carly Barjaktarovich was named the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and Boston U. placed a league-high three players on the All-Academic squad.
