Men's Track and Field Preps for Road Meet at Lehigh

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University men's track and field team will travel to Lehigh for the second time this season on Saturday when it participates in the John & Carol Covert Classic on Saturday, April 24.
Saturday's meet will include six teams in Binghamton, Lafayette, Loyola (Md.), Monmouth, Muhlenberg, and Lehigh.

About the Bison
- The majority of the Bucknell squad will be competing for the first time in two weeks, with the full team last competing against Army and Lehigh at the Bucknell Quad on Sunday, April 11.
- Two Bison All-Conference cross country runners, Connor McMenamin and Evan Minor, did manage to compete in a tough field at the Virginia Challenge on Friday.
- McMenamin put in a career-best showing in the steeplechase. The two-time Patriot League runner-up in the event ran the top time in the league (8:56.56), which moved into fifth on Bucknell's all-time list.
- No Bison has moved into the top 10 in the steeplechase since 2014 when Tyler Erhard moved into the eighth spot.
- Minor finished 17th in the 10,000 on Friday, crushing his personal best by just under two minutes (30:06.77). Minor has run well in his two meets at Virginia this season, also running a personal best (14:54.11) in the Virginia Opener.
- Bucknell last competed at Lehigh on April 3, with Alex Dessoye earning an individual win in the 400 (49.28).
- Jordan Montero earned a victory for the third straight outing in the javelin (190-5), while James Kelly was second (178-5).
- First year Matthew Perello had a strong meet, placing fifth in the 100 (11.10) and second in the 200 (22.66).
- Bucknell finished second to Binghamton at the meet with 123 points to the Bearcats' 131.
- Bucknell will travel to Army West Point for the Patriot League Championships set to begin on Friday, April 30.
