Ashlyn Ramos Selected as Bison Athlete of the Week for Second Time

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Ashlyn Ramos of the Bucknell University women's track and field team has been named the Bison Athlete of the Week for the second time this year, after earning the award during the cross country season.
Ramos continued her excellent junior year by breaking the school record in the 10,000 at the Virginia Challenge (34:04.76). The mark for Ramos breaks the previous school record held by Colleen Buckley (34:25.04) set in 2018 by just over 20 seconds.
In the Patriot League, the time for Ramos ranks first overall by over three minutes, and ranks 32nd nationally. Ramos finished eighth overall in a challenging field at Virginia, and the junior from Sammamish, Wash. also holds the second-fastest time in the league in the 5000 (16:42.82), which ranks fourth in the Bucknell record books.
Ramos also captured the Patriot League individual title at the 2021 Patriot League Spring Cross Country Championships earlier this year.
Bucknell will now look ahead to a meet at Lehigh this weekend in its final tune up before the Patriot League Outdoor Championships on April 30-May 1.
