Women's Lacrosse Unveils Incoming First Years

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell head women's lacrosse coach Jackie Dando announced Monday that eight newcomers will join her team next season.

The players hail from six different states: New York (3), Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Every position group is represented, with three attackers, two midfielders, two defenders and one goalie.

Dando, who won better than 62 percent of her games as Lebanon Valley College's head coach, was named Bucknell's head coach on December 23, 2019. She led the Bison to a 3-5 record during a 2020 campaign abbreviated due to the COVID-19 public health threat. She won her first two games at the helm of the program, as Bucknell dispatched Sacred Heart (18-9) and Binghamton (16-9) in commanding fashion.

Before Bucknell: Lettered in lacrosse at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School … in 2020, team was ranked 15th in the country by US Lacrosse … also played club lacrosse for Capital 2021 Orange … ranked first in assists and in top three in goals all four years in program.

Before Bucknell: Lettered in lacrosse and soccer at Sacred Heart Greenwich … helped the lacrosse team win two Fairchester Athletics Association Tournaments (2019 & 2018) … squad also won two FAA regular-season titles (2019 & 2018), notably going 18-1 in 2019 … competed at two Inside Lacrosse National High School Tournaments (2020 & 2019) … also played club lacrosse for Prime Time … Under Armor Uncommitted Team … Under Armor 150 Team (2019 & 2018).
