Six Bucknell Wrestlers Capture EIWA Academic Achievement Awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Six Bucknell wrestlers captured EIWA Academic Achievement Awards for their performance on the mat and in the classroom during the 2019-20 campaign.
Headlining the Bison honorees for the second year in a row were NCAA qualifiers Zach Hartman and Drew Phipps. The duo was joined on the EIWA All-Academic squad by Geo Barzona, David Campbell, Jaden Fisher and Kyle Inlander.
Barzona and Phipps are now three-time recipients of the EIWA Academic Achievement Award. Campbell, Hartman and Inlander became two-time EIWA All-Academic selections.
To be eligible for this award, wrestlers must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.20 and participated in the EIWA Championships or posted a cumulative GPA of 3.00 and qualified for the NCAA Championships.
Hartman, a Biology major, was one of three student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He joined American's Anthony Wokasch and Long Island University's Dominick DeMarco in that exclusive club.

Of Bucknell's six EIWA All-Academic team members, four placed at the 2020 EIWA Championships. Hartman (165) and Phipps (197) finished as runners-up while Fisher (157) and Inlander (184) took eighth. Hartman became the second Bison to twice place second at the EIWA Championships while Phipps earned his third-straight spot on the EIWA podium.
