This Week in Bucknell Athletics

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- From everyone in Bison Athletics, we hope that you enjoyed a happy and restful holiday and New Year's! Bucknell's winter-sport student-athletes have been hard at work, with conference championships in sight now that the calendar has flipped over to January, and very soon the spring teams will report with their seasons just around the corner. The men's and women's basketball teams are into the heart of Patriot League play -- both teams are off to 2-0 starts! -- and the Bison men are home twice this week. It will be Community Night, sponsored by M&T Bank, as well as Scout Night at Sojka Pavilion on Wednesday when Navy comes to town. And then on Saturday against Holy Cross, it will be the 16th Annual Dirk Sojka's Slam Dunk with Bison Basketball. This special day raises funds for Suncom Industries, an organization that employs adults with special needs in the local area. There will be a raffle drawing and many great items in the silent auction, so be sure to come early and check out the items up for bid. Tickets to both games are available HERE, or by calling 570-577-1000.

The swimming and diving team is back from a successful training trip to Florida and will compete at home on Friday against Johns Hopkins, with a big Patriot League dual coming up a day later at West Point. The Bison wrestlers have an EIWA dual against Navy in Annapolis on Friday night, and you can watch that one on the Patriot League Network. The Bison track & field squads will compete at the Angry Birds Invitational at Lehigh on Saturday, and men's tennis becomes the first spring team to get going when it travels to Chapel Hill, N.C., to face Wofford on Sunday.
