LEWISBURG, Pa. – Women's basketball senior forward Ellie Mack has been named Bison Athlete of the Week after helping the team improve to 4-0 in Patriot League play with wins over Navy and Holy Cross.
Mack led all Bison with 17 points and 12 rebounds in a 51-40 win over Holy Cross, which has been one of the top teams in the Patriot League this season. It was the fourth career double-double for the co-captain, who ranks fourth in the league in scoring at 14.3 points per game.
The 12 rebounds Mack pulled down matched her career best, and she's now scored in double-figures 12 times on the season. Mack also matched a career high with three blocks on Saturday, two of which came in the first five minutes of action.
Mack's 17 points were scored on 6-of-12 (50%) shooting and three made 3-pointers. She scored nine in the first quarter, helping the Bison jump out to a 13-11 lead through the first 10 minutes. Mack and the Bison limited the Crusaders, who entered the game with two of the league's top five scorers, to 27.6 percent shooting and kept Preseason Player of the Year Lauren Manis in check as she made just 6-of-16.
