Five Bison Travel to Jacksonville for NCAA Preliminary Meet

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Five members of the Bucknell University track and field team will travel to Jacksonville, Fla. for the NCAA East Provisional beginning on Thursday, May 20. Maura Fiamoncini, Will Briggs, Matt Fay, Nicholas Marino, and Jake Stupak will each make the trip. The top 12 finishers from each event will move on to the NCAA Championships held at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas from June 5-8.

Notes: Placed second at the Patriot League Championships (16-5.5), seventh at IC4As (15-11.25). Placed 21st at NCAA East Preliminary in 2017, and was 36th in 2018.

Jake Stupak, Junior

Career-Best: 3:45.80 (Bison Outdoor Classic, April 13-14, 2019)
Notes: Stupak holds the fifth-fastest time in school history in the 1500, and was the third-fastest time in the Patriot League this season. Placed third at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships.
Maura Fiamoncini, Sophomore

Seed: 10th (170-9)
Career-Best: 184-5 (Jim Taylor Invite, March 31, 2018)
Notes: Owns School Record in the javelin. Won the Patriot League Outdoor title for the second consecutive season with a meet record of 168-2. Threw season-best of 170-9 at ECAC Championships to finish second. Placed fifth in the preliminary round in 2018 and 13th at the NCAA Championships.
