LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell head coach Anna Allison has announced the addition of Katelyn Beauregard and Taylor Virtue as assistant coaches to the Bison volleyball staff. Beauregard comes to Lewisburg after spending two seasons as an assistant at Albion College, while Virtue was an assistant at Saint Martin's for the past two seasons.
"I am beyond excited to add not one, but two incredible women to our coaching staff," Allison said. "We had a strong pool but it was clear that Katelyn and Taylor would be a great fit for our program. They both came from great institutions and have played and taught the game at all levels. They are passionate about volleyball and bring energy to the program. After not being fully staffed for an entire season, it is great to have such a cohesive team on and off the court and our women will definitely benefit from it."
Beauregard has seen success at each of her two collegiate coaching stops, most notably with her two seasons at Springfield College when the Pride advanced to the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 in both 2015 and 2016. The team went 60-10 during those two seasons.
The Pride had some of the best statistical seasons in the country during Beauregard's two seasons as an assistant coach. The team led the nation in hitting percentage in 2015 and had a player lead the nation in blocks in 2016.
From there, Beauregard went to Albion, where she helped guide the Britons to a 31-27 overall record and a 13-11 MIAA mark in two seasons. In 2017 the team had three All-MIAA selections and then added four honorees in 2018.
Beauregard earned a B.A. in psychology from Salve Regina in 2015 and a M.Ed. in athletic counseling from Springfield in 2017. As a student-athlete at Salve Regina, she was a four-year starter, four-year academic all-conference award winner, three-year all-conference pick and two-year captain. Beauregard was named the Rhode Island Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Distinguished Athlete of the Year as a senior.
Virtue specialized in middle blockers and defense at Saint Martin's during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. In her first year as an assistant coach, she helped lead the Saints to a three-win improvement from the season before and the most Division III wins in program history. The team had one All-GNAC selection in 2017 and two honorees in 2018.
Prior to her time at Saint Martin's, Virtue was a graduate assistant on the same staff as Beauregard for two seasons at Springfield. She specialized in defense and receive on the two teams that advanced to the Sweet 16, helping the team's libero earn 2016 AVCA Freshman of the Year recognition.
Virtue earned a B.A. in K-12 education/kinesiology and health from Northwest Nazarene in 2015, and a M.Ed. in advanced level coaching from Springfield in 2017.
