Bison Notes
- Matt Fay continues his strong senior campaign for the Orange and Blue, winning the pole vault at the Colonial Relays as Bucknell finished in second place as a team.
- Fay earned the Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week Award for his efforts after he cleared 16-8 for an IC4A-qualifying vault.
- Fay's vault is the second-highest vault in the Patriot League this season, and is currently the 51st ranked height in the country.
- The Bison picked up several more IC4A qualifiers at the Colonial Relays.
- Jake Stupak posted a time of 3:47.81 in the 1500 to finish in third place. Stupak's mark is the top time in the Patriot League by nearly two seconds. His time is also the 65th fastest in the NCAA this season.
- Drew Dorflinger also earned IC4A qualification with a time of 3:56.14 in the event.
- Robert Dessoye (800, 1:53.94) and Landin Delaney (10,000, 31:22.85) also earned IC4A nods.
- Several relays notched IC4A standards as well in Williamsburg, with the 4x400 (Steve Rizio, Alex Dessoye, R. Dessoye, Billy Melchionni) and the 4x100 (Ryquan Harris, Jeff Brown, Rizio, Melchionni) each meeting the mark.
- Bucknell won last year's Outdoor Classic, largely in part to excellent days from the sprinters.
- Melchionni and Brown went 1-2 in the 200, with A. Dessoye and Rizio also posting top 15 finishes in the event.
- The 4x400 squad, comprised of the same four from the Colonial Relays, also won the event last season in Lewisburg (3:17.40).
- Ethan Dunne placed ninth in the 110-high hurdles and Matthew Barton finished 16th in the 400 intermediate hurdles at last season's meet.
- Nicholas Marino posted a strong meet last season, finishing in second at 16-2 ¾ in the pole vault.
- Aidan Krombolz was sixth in the javelin at 199-1, then a career-best. Krombolz has since improved on that mark, as he tossed a 202-3 at the Raleigh Relays earlier this season, currently the 84th-best mark in NCAA Division I.
The Bison will remain in Lewisburg for the second consecutive week when they host the Bucknell Team Challenge on Saturday, April 21.
