Koch Selected as Patriot League Women's Tennis Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Cayla Koch was named the Patriot League Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday after helping Bucknell open the season with wins over St. Bonaventure and Siena.

Koch went 2-0 in singles over the weekend, starting with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Kahlei Reisinger on court two in Bucknell's 6-1 victory over St. Bonaventure on Saturday. She followed that up by beating Kylie Mullaney, 6-4, 6-3, on court two in the Bison's 4-3 win over Siena on Sunday.

Koch improved 9-3 in singles during the fall and spring seasons combined.

The sophomore went 1-1 in doubles on the weekend, teaming with Paige Leavy to defeat St. Bonaventure's Penelope Abreu and Andrea Roque.

The Bison are 2-0 to start the season for the third consecutive year. They will look to go 3-0 when they host Niagara on Saturday at 2 p.m., at the Central PA Tennis Center. It will be Fan Appreciation Day, which will include free pizza while supplies last and prizes.
