LEWISBURG, Pa. – After helping the Bison to a 3-1 win over Loyola last weekend, Kelsey O'Loughlin has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for a sixth time this season. The freshman has won all but three Rookie of the Week awards this season.
O'Loughlin put together two well-rounded performances against American and Loyola. Her .714 hitting percentage in the win over Loyola was a team-high, as were her 51 assists. The 51 assists were the second-most O'Loughlin has recorded this season, and the freshman added 24 in the American match as well.
The Fort Lauderdale, Fla. native also totaled eight kills over the weekend while committing just one error. O'Loughlin added 18 digs in the two matches, and posted two crucial block assists in Saturday's win.
O'Loughlin now has 859 assists this season, which is second-most in the Patriot League. She also leads the team with 25 service aces. Sophie Bullard was an honorable mention for Player of the Week after recording a career-high 23 kills in Saturday's win.
O'Loughlin and the Bison are back on the road this weekend for matches at Holy Cross and Army. The Bison defeated the Crusaders 3-2 back in October.
