CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Bucknell goalie Jamisen DeWitt was voted to the 2019 Preseason All-Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Team, the league office announced Thursday.
The senior captain, a 2018 All-Patriot League Second Team honoree, was among 16 student-athletes recognized on the preseason all-league team. A year ago, she became the first Bison goalie to capture All-Patriot League honors since 2011 after leading the league in saves per game (10.75).
Nationally, DeWitt finished ninth in saves per game and 12th in saves. She wrapped up the 2018 campaign with a career-best 172 stops, a total 16 outside of Bucknell's single-season top 10. She reached the double digits in saves in 10 games, topping out at a career-high 17 at Boston University. She enters her senior campaign with 419 career stops, good for eighth in the Bison annals.
In 2018, DeWitt also paced Bucknell with 45 ground balls, a total which placed her in a tie for fourth in school history. With 120 in her career, she is currently slotted in a tie for seventh all-time. Over the past three years, she has started 50 of the Bison's 51 games in net.Â
In addition, Bucknell was picked to place ninth in the Patriot League based on a vote by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. Loyola, Navy and Lehigh were selected as the top-three teams, with the Greyhounds receiving 12 first-place votes and the Mids taking the other eight.
