LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's swimming & diving team fell to Army West Point, 203.5-91.5, on Saturday afternoon at Kinney Natatorium.
The Black Knights (4-2, 2-1 Patriot League), the 2018 Patriot League runners-up, extended their winning streak over the Bison (3-4, 3-3 Patriot League) to seven meets. Bucknell finished the meet with 16 top-three finishes, including victories by Matt McGoey (200 IM) and the 400 freestyle relay team of Nate Romanowski, Vince Filippini, Nico Pagni and Mitch Gavars.
McGoey also anchored the second-place 400 freestyle relay team and tied for third in the 200 backstroke while Gavars finished third in the 200 freestyle.
Chadd Cummings, who won two events against Loyola on Friday, also had a strong outing against Army West Point. He took second in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 200 breaststroke. He also teamed with Jack Rose, Liam Pitt and Charlie McFarland for a second-place showing in the 200 medley relay.
Garrett Sommer placed third on both boards. Both of his scores would have cracked Bucknell's top 10 if he wasn't already sixth in the 1-meter dive (261.35) and seventh in the 3-meter dive (261.45).
