LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Former Bison standout point guard Stephen Brown is the latest men's basketball graduate headed overseas, as he will soon begin his professional career with Yalova Group Belediyespor of the Turkish Basketball League. All three members of the record-setting 2018 senior class are now in the pro ranks, as Nana Foulland signed with Ironi Nahariya in Israel and Zach Thomas with Okapi Aalstar in Belgium.Â
Brown joins a team in Turkey's second division after a terrific four-year career at Bucknell. As a senior, Brown earned First Team All-Patriot League and Patriot League Tournament MVP honors. He was also named to the Patriot League All-Defensive Team for the third straight year, and he was an Academic All-PL choice. Brown averaged a career-high 15.1 points per game last season, including 21.0 ppg in the postseason. He tallied 26 points against Boston University in the Patriot League Tournament semifinals, 22 against Colgate in the championship game, and 20 against Michigan State in the NCAA Tournament. Brown graduated ranked third in Bucknell history in assists (524) and 19th in points (1,309).
After the season, he played in the inaugural Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship during Final Four weekend in San Antonio. Brown has been training with his new team in Turkey, with the season set to begin in October.Â
