Softball Opens League Play at Home with Weekend Series Against Army

About the Bison
• Bucknell is 8-16 after a tough slate of games during a spring break trip to Georgia. Included in the trip was a doubleheader against No. 10 Georgia. The Bison put up a solid fight in game two before losing 4-2.
• The Bison posted a 5-1 win over Rutgers during the spring trip. It was the team's first win over a Big Ten team since 2007.
• In 10 games in Georgia, Bucknell hit 12 home runs. Meghan Kovac and Lauren Hadley hit four apiece, Marisa Alemany had two, and Paulina Gutkin and Anna Gimmestad each added one.
• Kovac has 19 career home runs. She needs just two more to break the school record of 20 set by Lauren Litts from 2004-07. • Hadley was named an Honorable Mention in the Patriot League's weekly award release. Over 10 games, she hit .407 (11-27) with two doubles, one triple, four home runs, and eight RBIs. She added two walks for an on-base percentage of .448 and had a slugging percentage of 1.000.
• Bucknell leads the Patriot League in runs scored (83), doubles (29), home runs (17), RBIs (70), total bases (244), and slugging (.391),
• This weekend marks the first Patriot League series of the season for six of the seven teams in the conference. Bucknell was picked to finish fourth in the league, while Army West Point was predicted to finish third. The top four teams qualify for the Patriot League Tournament.
• Sunday's game will stream free of charge on the Patriot League Network. It will be the first game at Becker Field to ever be streamed on the network.
