Slagus Named Patriot League Player of the Week and Bison Athlete of the Week

The Senior Was the MVP at the Brown Turkey Tip-Off

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell's Kaitlyn Slagus has been named the Patriot League Women's Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Bison to a 3-0 record and the title at Brown University's Turkey Tip-Off. Additionally, the senior was selected as the Bison Athlete of the Week.

Slagus earned MVP honors after averaging 19.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in wins over UMass (77-58), Fairfield (77-54), and Brown (91-78). She capped the tournament with an outstanding performance, scoring a career-high 30 points in addition to six rebounds in the win over Brown.

Slagus shot 58 percent (19-33) from the field and 83 percent (15-18) from the line. She opened the tournament with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 8-for-11 in a win over UMass.

Joining Slagus on the All-Tournament Team were junior Ellie Mack and sophomore Abby Kapp.

Bucknell is back on the road for a game against St. Bonaventure on Thursday at 7 p.m.
