Slagus Named Bison Athlete of the Week

The Senior Recorded Back-to-Back Double-Doubles in Two Wins by Women's Basketball

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Kaitlyn Slagus has been named the Bison Athlete of the Week after recording back-to-back double-doubles while leading the women's basketball team to a 2-0 record to open the season. The Bison beat Monmouth 70-32 on Tuesday and then beat Quinnipiac, a team that was receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll, 75-58 in the home opener on Sunday.

Slagus won a hard-fought battle in the paint against Quinnipiac, totaling 15 points and 14 rebounds. She hit three of her six attempts from beyond the arc, giving her multiple 3-pointers in each of the first two games of the season. In the season opener, the senior hit two 3-pointers on her way to a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Two games into her final season with the Bison, Slagus ranks 19^th in program history with 1,072 career points and tied for ninth with 727 career rebounds.

Bucknell returns to action Thursday with a game at Drexel. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
