Seniors Lead Volleyball to 3-2 Win Over Loyola in Final Match of Season

Lindsey Baker, Blake Buchholz, and Jamie Risdal Led the Bison to the Win
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell's three seniors – Lindsey Baker, Blake Buchholz, and Jamie Risdal – came up big on Senior Day to lead the Bison to a 3-2 (25-13, 14-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-7) win over visiting Loyola in the final collegiate volleyball match of their careers.
The Bison seniors all started the match and combined for 31 kills and 5.5 blocks. Risdal had the match-clinching kill in the fifth set and finished with eight kills, .474 hitting, and three block assists. Baker had five total blocks (4 assists, 1 solo) and added eight kills on .467 hitting. Buchholz recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 19 digs.
Bucknell started fast, cruising to a 25-13 win in the first set. The seniors set the tone early. Baker had five kills in the first set, including the set-clinching point. Buchholz added four kills, while Risdal chipped in with three.
The Bison hit .500 in the opening set and .241 in the match. They also hit .500 on 14 attacks in the final set.
Junior Bridgette Holland had a huge match for Bucknell, leading the team in kills with 13 and block assists with six. Sophomore Alexa Bonanno tallied 46 assists, her third consecutive match with at least 45.
The Greyhounds' Ann Ernst led all players with 16 kills and added nine digs. Abby Hamilton finished with 14 kills and 11 digs.
Loyola, which is battling for one of the four spots in the Patriot League Tournament, saw its record dip to 13-15 overall and 8-7 in the conference. Bucknell closed the season at 8-19 overall and 3-13 in the league.
