Slagus Named Patriot League Women's Basketball Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Kaitlyn Slagus has been named The Rock Patriot League Women's Basketball Player of the Week after recording her 10th double-double of the season in a 68-62 win over visiting Army West Point on Saturday at Sojka Pavilion.
Slagus scored 22 points while adding 13 rebounds and four blocks against the Black Knights, helping the Bison improve to 17-3 overall and 9-0 in the Patriot League for the first time in program history. Her 10 double-doubles rank second in the conference this season and she is one of just two players averaging double-digits in both points (13.5) and rebounds (10.0). She has 11 double-doubles in her first two seasons at Bucknell.
Slagus has scored in double-digits 14 times this season, including three games with at least 20 points. The team is 9-1 in games that she recorded a double-double.
Bucknell has won four Patriot League Player of the Week awards this season, including three by Slagus. The fourth was won by senior Sune Swart.
The Bison have won a program-best 12 straight games. They will put that winning streak on the line when they travel to play American at Bender Arena on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
