Women's Tennis Adds Anastasija Filipovic for 2016-17 Season

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Head coach Rebecca Helt has announced the addition of Anastasija Filipovic for the 2016-17 season. Filipovic joins Paige Leavy, who signed a letter of intent in January, to make up the recruiting class for Helt's 20th season as the head coach of the Bison.
Filipovic has excelled while playing in her home country, finishing first in U16 in Serbia in 2013 and in the top five in U18 in 2014. Additionally, she was third in U12 in 2008 and first in U16 in 2011 in her hometown of Belgrade.
“I've been talking to Anastasija for quite a while and I'm so excited that she has chosen to attend Bucknell,” Helt said. “She will make a big impact on our team. Her enthusiasm is contagious and I know she'll be a great addition to an already strong team, as well as the Bucknell community.”
Filipovic joins a Bucknell team that went 16-9 in 2016. The Bison earned the fourth seed in the Patriot League Tournament, where they advanced to the semifinals with a win over Lehigh.
