Women's Tennis Tops St. Bonaventure for Third Straight Win

OLEAN, N.Y. – The Bucknell women's tennis team ran its winning streak to three matches with a 6-1 victory at St. Bonaventure on Sunday. The Bison won five singles matches and all three doubles matches while improving to 3-1 on the season.
Cioffi had the closest match of the day, edging Mara Martinez-Santori in three sets at No. 1 singles. The contest opened with two straight 7-6 scores, with Cioffi winning the first set and Santori taking the second set. Cioffi clinched the win with a 6-3 victory in the final set.
Lisa Jouravleva (No. 2), Lauren FIshbein (No. 4), Mishi Papich (No. 5) and Stephanie Pino (No. 6) all won in straight sets in their singles matches.
The Bison came through in the clutch to win the doubles point, taking two of the matches by 7-6 scores. Those were won by Fishbein and Jouravleva at No. 2, and by Pino and Emilie Bush at No. 3. Cioffi and Michele Urbinati were 6-4 victors at No. 1.
Fishbein has yet to lose during her rookie spring season, opening at 4-0 in both singles and doubles. Papich, another freshman, is 3-0 in singles, while Jouravleva moved to 2-0.
Bucknell will travel to Elkton, Maryland to take on Delaware on Saturday. The match is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
