LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell men's track and field sophomore Nicholas Lombardo earned his first career 5th Quarter Fresh Bison of the Week honor on Monday, after tying the school-record in the high jump at the Penn State Relays over the weekend.
Lombardo finished as the runner-up in a field of 20 athletes in the event, recording a leap of 6-10 ¾. His mark tied the school-record, set by Ted Lewis in 1982. His performance also eclipsed the IC4A standard.
Lombardo was an honorable mention in this week's Patriot League M-F Athletic Indoor Track and Field weekly awards.
The sophomore also qualified for the IC4A Championships in the long jump in the team's kickoff event, the Bison Opener.
Lombardo and the rest of the Bucknell track and field team return to action on Saturday, Jan. 23, when Bucknell hosts the Gulden Invitational.
