Trees, Lupica Earn Weekly Awards for Men's Track and Field

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Seniors Laddie Trees and Christian Lupica both earned weekly awards after leading the Bucknell men's track and field team to a third-place finish out of 42 teams at the Colonial Relays last weekend. Trees was named the M-F Athletic Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week, and Lupica was selected as the 5th Quarter Fresh Bison Athlete of the Week.
Trees placed second in the javelin at the Colonial Relays with a mark of 233-0, easily topping the IC4A standard of 192-7. He recorded the top javelin toss in the Patriot League this season and the fifth-best mark in the NCAA East Region. His throw was also the second best in Bucknell history.
Lupica won the 110-meter hurdles at the Colonial Relays with a time of 13.94, beating the IC4A standard and ranking 11th in the NCAA East Region this season. He also ran the anchor leg on the first-place 4x400 relay team and scored points with an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles.
The Bison are prepared for a big home meet this weekend as they host a large field for the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday and Sunday.
