Nick Bybel Earns Pair of Weekly Awards

Bison Fall Short on Day Two of Tournament, Bybel to Play Saturday

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Junior Nick Bybel went 5-0 in singles action and 3-1 in doubles as Bucknell men's tennis traveled to Florida for five matches last week. On Monday, Bybel was named the Corvias Patriot League Player of the Week, as well as the 5^th Quarter Fresh Bison Athlete of the Week.

Bybel improved to 26-3 during the fall and spring, tying his own program record for wins in a season. He is 10-1 in spring dual matches, including a current streak of nine straight victories. With just three more singles wins, he will be the school's career record holder.

All five of Bybel's wins in Florida came at No. 1. He defeated opponents from Hampton, Bethune-Cookman, Southern Mississippi, St. Cloud State and Creighton. He teamed with Bryan Adams for the three doubles triumphs.

The Bison will play their first two home matches of the season when they host Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday and Rider on Thursday at the Bucknell Tennis Courts.
