
Gannon Named To Women?s Soccer Academic All-Patriot League Team

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's soccer team are in the hunt to capture a third Patriot League women's soccer title, and on Wednesday junior forward Alexis Gannon earned a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League team.
The Bucknell junior is a neuroscience major with a 3.68 cumulative grade-point average. A Dean's List student every semester, Gannon is also a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member.
Last summer, Gannon worked at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the Center for Childhood Cancer Research. During her time at the hospital, she worked with doctors who focus on neuroblastoma, which a tumor that primarily affects children. Gannon studied the effects of two drug protocols that targeted two individual signaling pathways within the cell. Gannon has also shadowed at Gillette Children's Hospital, Lakeview Clinic and Southlake Pediatrics in Minnesota.
Gannon is the team's second leading scorer this season, notching four goals and two assists for 10 points. She has tallied seven goals and six assists in 56 career games.
Bucknell is 10-5-3 overall and seeded second in the Patriot League Tournament. The Bison will travel to Boston University on Friday for a 7 p.m. semifinal matchup with No. 3 Navy. Top-seed Boston University will take on No. 4 Loyola in the other semifinal contest.
The Bison are looking to earn their first Patriot League title since 2005.
