LEWISBURG, Pa. – Freshman Jenna Calandro (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown) and senior Kim Nagotko (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) both earned weekly awards for Bucknell women's track and field following the Bison Opener on Saturday. Calandro earned M-F Athletic Patriot League Female Rookie of the Week honors, while Nagotko was named the 5th Quarter Fresh Bison Athlete of the Week.
Making her college debut, Calandro won the pole vault after clearing 11-9 ¾ on her first try. The height qualified her for the ECAC Indoor Championships and also placed sixth on the program's all-time list.
Nagotko opened her senior season by setting a school record in the 300-meter dash, winning the event with a time of 40.25 seconds. She also ran the anchor leg on the first-place 4x400 relay team that won by over seven seconds, and took third in the 60-meter dash.
The Bison will have a month off before their next competition, when they make the short trip for the Penn State Relays on Saturday, Jan. 10.
