Bucknell Leads Patriot League with 19 Academic Honor Roll Selections

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell volleyball team put forth a stellar academic performance under first-year head coach Anna Allison during the 2013 season, placing a league-best 19 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, an eight-player increase from last year. Bucknell was also the only school to have multiple athletes selected to the Patriot League Volleyball Academic Honor Roll for four consecutive seasons, as seniors Jessica Serrato, a two-time Academic All-Patriot League honoree, and Leylin Marroquin were two of the five student-athletes to accomplish the feat.

This year's honor roll is comprised of 89 student-athletes representing the league's nine volleyball programs. Bucknell led the way with its 19 honorees, followed by Lafayette and Loyola with 12 apiece. Lehigh (11) and American (10) also had double-digit representation. This is the first time in three years that the Bison have topped the conference.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championships sports.
