Hello Bison fans, and welcome to the brand new BucknellBison.com -- the official website of Bucknell Athletics. No need to adjust your monitors ... even though the site looks drastically different, all of the Bucknell information that you have become familiar with through the years is still here, and plenty of new features are at your fingertips!
Bucknell Athletics is proud to be partnered for the first time with NeuLion, one of the leading technology companies in the industry. NeuLion has over 175 NCAA partners, as well as professional sports affiliations with the NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL, MLS and many others.
We hope that you will enjoy the new design. The objective was a clean, simple look that showcases our photography and our Orange & Blue colors without the overabundance of flashing boxes and links that clutter many of the websites out there. At the same time, we strived to organize the menus and links conveniently, so that users are easily able to find the information they are seeking.
One such re-organization comes in the Bison Vision on-demand video area, where video clips are now organized into three categories: "In the Herd," "Meet a Bison" and "Highlights." The "In the Herd" features are our familiar check-ins with Bison teams, focusing on important upcoming events and other topical stories. "Meet a Bison" is a new video series, where we will introduce you to many of our outstanding student-athletes at Bucknell. Our first five profiles feature football quarterback Brandon Wesley, field hockey star Vickie Resh, Serbian men's water polo player Stefan Aleksic, men's soccer captain Mayowa Alli and women's soccer midfielder Evelyn Nicinski, who is also playing for the Polish national team trying to help them qualify for the World Cup in 2015.
All of these on-demand videos are available free of charge, and they provide a nice complement to our vast slate of free live event coverage on Bison Vision on the Patriot League Network. Through a partnership with the Patriot League and Campus Insiders, the PLN launched earlier this fall, providing live, high-definition coverage of hundreds of sporting events across the Patriot League.
Another exciting development with both the new BucknellBison.com and the Patriot League Network is an improved presence in the mobile environment. In today's world, a significant number of internet users are browsing on devices other than their desktop computers. Along with the redesign of our main website comes a streamlined mobile version, so you can find all the information you need on Bison Athletics from your smartphones and tablets, and even watch a game on the PLN live while on the go!
Stay tuned in the coming weeks for the announcement of a Bison Athletics mobile app, which will allow fans to watch on-demand videos and view the NeuLion live stats interface from a mobile device.
