The Bucknell Invitational will also feature Fairleigh Dickinson facing Canisius Friday at 5 p.m. and Rider Saturday at 3 p.m.
The Bison enter the weekend with a 4-2 record on the season. They have gone 2-1 each of the first two weekends of the campaign and are one of five Patriot League teams with records above .500 entering play at the Bucknell Invitational.
The Bison have showed the ability to win matches of various lengths this year. Two of their wins have come in three sets, while they have also won a four-set match and a five-setter.
Freshman Erika Eastley enters the weekend with a team-high 52 kills and a .429 hitting percentage. She leads the Patriot League in total blocks (35) and blocks per set (1.52). Classmate Keane Brazda's 96 assists pace the squad, while Katie Price's 83 digs top that category.
Bucknell has had success against each of its three weekend opponents. The Bison are 8-2 all-time against Canisius, 7-3 opposite Fairleigh Dickinson and 11-9 vs. Rider. Bucknell defeated Fairleigh Dickinson 3-0 two weeks ago at the La Salle Invitational. The Bison last played Canisius in 2010 (W, 3-1) and Rider (L, 3-1) in 2006.
Rider is 6-1 on the year entering its Wednesday home match vs. La Salle, while Canisius (0-8) and Fairleigh Dickinson (0-9) are still looking for their first wins this season.
Friday's Bucknell-Rider match will have a free live video broadcast available via Bison Vision on the Patriot League Network.
Bucknell will open Patriot League play next weekend when it travels to Holy Cross (Sept. 20) and Army (Sept. 21). The Bison will have just one non-league match remaining (Oct. 15 at Howard).
