Bison Trio to Compete at Washington & Lee Track & Field Carnival

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Three members of Bucknell track and field will get a bit of a jump on the competition this weekend as Michaela Read, Cody Haupt and Emma Rice will compete at the Washington & Lee Carnival in Lexington, Va. The meet will run Friday through Saturday.
Read and Haupt will compete in the multi events. Read placed second in the pentathlon at the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships last month. The freshman's first go in the heptathlon begins on Friday, beginning at 9 a.m. Haupt will compete in his first decathlon as well with an 11 a.m. start on Friday.
Rice will compete in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. A member of the 4x100 relay that set the school record at last year's league outdoor championships, Rice missed the 2012-13 indoor season. The sophomore's season will open on Saturday with the 100 at 2 p.m. and the 200 at 3:30 p.m.
The rest of the Bison will get their season underway on March 30 at the UMBC Invitational in Baltimore, Md.
