/AudioLEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell baseball team gets back to action this weekend when it plays a three-game series at Duke. The weekend set begins Friday at 3 p.m. at Jack Coombs Field. Saturday's first pitch is 1 p.m., while Sunday's game will commence at noon.
Bucknell (0-3) opened its season last weekend at Richmond. Senior Travis Clark finished the weekend with a team-best .364 batting average. Fellow senior Robb Scott connected on his first career home run during Saturday's game. Sophomore Rob Krentzman posted a career-high three doubles during Friday's contest, coming one shy of the school single-game record.
Luke Lombardi, Scott Glass and Corey Furman will each bring a two-game hitting streak into the Duke series.
Freshman relievers Max Kra and Austin Zimmerman were not charged with a run in 4.2 innings pitched during Saturday's game. Kra was especially effective, tallying 3.2 innings and allowing just two hits. Game three starter Dan Goldstein did not allow a hit in his 5.2 innings, but six walks hurt him in the 6-1 loss.
Duke enters the weekend with a 1-2 mark. The Blue Devils took game one of a three-game series from No. 13 Florida last week. Duke was 21-34 overall in 2012 and 9-21 in ACC play.
This weekend's series marks the first-ever meeting between Bucknell and Duke. The teams split a two-game exhibition series in 1971.
Bucknell will travel south again next weekend when it plays two games apiece against Harvard and Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
