LEWISBURG, Pa. - After competing away from home in nine of its first 10 duals, the Bucknell wrestling team will host EIWA foes Columbia and Army on Friday and Saturday, respectively, inside Davis Gym. Both matches will air live on Bison Vision.
The Bison will square off against Columbia Friday at 7 p.m., while Saturday's match with Army is slated for 4 p.m. Admission to both matches is free.
Bucknell (3-7, 0-0 EIWA) will wrestle at home in six of its next seven matches. The Bison have had just one home match this year and that was last month against No. 2 Oklahoma State in Sojka Pavilion. Bucknell is 15-8 in its last 23 Davis Gym matches dating back to the 2008-09 campaign.
The Bison were in action last weekend at the Virginia Duals and posted a 1-2 record at the bracketed event. They defeated Buffalo, while falling to nationally ranked Virginia and Old Dominion. Sophomore 285-pounder Joe Stolfi, the current Bison Athlete of the Week, was the standout performer with a perfect 3-0 record at the Virginia Duals.
Columbia (3-3, 0-1 EIWA) went 2-1 at last weekend's Cal Poly Mustang Duals. The Lions are 3-1 in their last four bouts and will face EIWA opponents in seven of their final eight regular-season matches.
Like Bucknell, Army (3-4, 0-1 EIWA) posted a 1-2 mark at last week's Virginia Duals. The Black Knights defeated The Citadel, but lost to nationally ranked Edinboro and Boise State.
Bucknell will have another two-match EIWA weekend next weekend when it hosts Franklin & Marshall on Friday (Jan. 25) at 7 p.m. and travels to Philadelphia, Pa., to face Penn on Sunday (Jan. 27) at 1 p.m.
