Bucknell Women's Rowing's Dan Wolleben Earns Mid-Atlantic Region Assistant Coach of the Year Award for Third Straight Year

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Fifth-year Bucknell women's rowing assistant coach Dan Wolleben was named the Mid-Atlantic Region Assistant Coach of the Year by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association earlier this week. It is the third year in a row Wolleben has been cited with the award.
Wolleben acts as the varsity assistant coach for Bucknell, working primarily with the varsity eight and second varsity eight. He helped guide the Bison to a seventh consecutive Patriot League title last month.
A 2004 Fordham graduate who was inducted into his alma mater's Athletic Hall of Fame this past winter, Wolleben worked primarily with the freshman boats his first two years at Bucknell. In 2010 and 2011 he focused on the second varsity eight, and this year added the varsity eight to his duties.
Wolleben's guidance helped the varsity eight to its seventh consecutive Boat of the Year honor at the Patriot League Championship. Additionally, the varsity eight placed second at the Dad Vail Regatta and fourth at the Eastern Sprints earlier this month.
The second varsity eight has been strong under Wolleben's tutelage as well. It finished second to Navy at this year's Patriot League Championship, won a gold medal at the Knecht Cup, posted a second-place showing at the Dad Vail Regatta and crossed the line second in the Petite Final at the Eastern Sprints.
Wolleben is the second member of Bucknell's coaching staff to be recognized this year. Head coach Stephen Kish earned his sixth Patriot League Coach of the Year citation last month.
