LEWISBURG, Pa. – For the fourth time in her career, Bucknell women's tennis' Lauren Lucido (Woodstock, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) was named All-Patriot League, earning a spot on the first team, the league announced on Monday. Lucido finished her career as the Bison's all-time record-holder in singles, doubles and combined victories.
Lucido becomes just the second Bucknell women's tennis player to be cited by the league all four years of her career, joining former teammate Tania Varela in the distinction. After being named All-Patriot League Second Team in each of her first two seasons in the Orange and Blue, Lucido was a first-team honoree as a junior and senior.
Lucido graduates as the winningest Bison in program history with a career combined record of 170-71. That includes a singles mark of 87-36 and a doubles tally of 83-35, both of which are also first in Bison women's tennis annals. Lucido's 26-6 No. 1 singles record is fourth, while her .813 winning percentage at that position is also the best in program history.
During her final campaign, Lucido led all Bison at 23-10 in singles and 16-14 in doubles. It was the third consecutive season in which she surpassed the 20-victory mark in singles. In April, she was named the Patriot League Player of the Month for the fourth time in her career. She was also a two-time winner of the Susquehanna Bison Athlete of the Week honor.
Bucknell has placed at least one athlete on an all-league team every year since 2003. The Bison have earned 26 total selections since 1992-93.
The All-Patriot League teams and major awards are determined by a vote of the institutions' head coaches who cannot vote for their own athletes.
Bucknell finished the 2010-11 season with an overall record of 10-11 and went 3-2 in the Patriot League before advancing to the semifinals of the league tournament.
