LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell senior goalie Alyssa DeLorenz (Garland, Texas/Plano East) was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team on Tuesday. DeLorenz, who leads all Division I netminders in saves per game, earned all-conference plaudits for the second time in her career.
One of this year's team co-captains, DeLorenz played all but 7:30 in goal for the Bison and finished the season with 205 saves in 16 games. She became only the eighth Bucknell goalie in program history to record 200 saves in a season, and her total of 205 ranks fifth all-time and is the most in 16 years.
DeLorenz's 12.8 saves per game ranks No. 1 nationally, and her 205 total saves ranks No. 2, behind only Danielle Pokusa of Saint Francis (Pa.), who has 210.
DeLorenz also ranked second in the Patriot League in save percentage at .462. She recorded double-digit saves in 11 of 16 games this season, including a career-high 22-save performance in a win over Manhattan. That was one of seven games in which she stopped 15 or more shots for the 3-13 Bison.
In her career, DeLorenz was on the field for an incredible 99.1 percent of her team's minutes. Her 689 career saves rank third in program history, trailing only Susan Lang (875 from 1986-89) and Nicole Kallis (711 from 2000-03).
DeLorenz also earned First Team All-Patriot League honors as a sophomore in 2009.
