Bucknell Softball Dedicates Charles & Karen Becker Field

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell softball's home turf was officially dedicated Charles & Karen Becker Field prior to the Bison's doubleheader against Lafayette on Sunday. The field was named in honor of Bucknell Hall of Fame member Dawn Becker's parents, two of Bison softball's biggest supporters during Dawn's time in the Orange and Blue.
Formerly known as the Varsity Softball Field, Becker Field underwent renovations last summer thanks to a lead-gift from Becker, Bucknell Class of 1985. The newly revamped facility includes brick dugouts and backstop, scoreboard and playing surface.
The Becker family threw out a trio of ceremonial first pitches prior to the day's first game. They were joined on the field by Director of Athletics and Recreation John Hardt, Becker's former coach and current associate director of athletics Terrie Grieb and head coach Heather Rakosik.
