NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Bucknell men's track and field team sent a small contingent of athletes to Yale's Giegengack Invitational on Saturday. The top finish of the day for the Bison was a fourth-place effort by Jordan Donaldson (Saxton, Pa./Tussey Mountain) in the 500-meter dash.
Donaldson clocked a time of 1:04.43 in the 500, just a tenth of a second off his personal best. John Picardo (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton Central) also did well in the 500, finishing eighth in 1:05.12.
Freshman Kamal Riley (Hyde Park, Mass./Charlestown) also just missed a PR in the 60-meter dash, clocking a 7.20 while advancing out of the prelims.
A couple of distance runners did set personal bests. Sophomore Dustin Horning (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabethtown Area) ran 2:30.50 in the 1,000 meters, and sophomore Robert Yamnicky (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) recorded a time of 8:41.72 in the 3,000.
The Bison will be back in action next Saturday at the Bucknell Winter Classic in Gerhard Fieldhouse. The meet gets underway at 9:30 a.m., and then the following weekend is the 2011 Patriot League Indoor Championships at Navy.
