Bucknell Softball Leads Patriot League with 12 Academic Honor Roll Selections

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell softball placed a league-leading 12 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Tuesday. The Bison were led by Jessie Snyder (Tacoma, Wash./Stadium) and Lauren Trosch (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh) who each finished the spring semester with a 3.91 grade-point average.
Bucknell led the Patriot League in academic honor roll selections for the fourth consecutive year. The Bison were trailed in 2010 by Lehigh with 10, and Holy Cross and Lafayette with eight apiece. Colgate finished with five selections, while Army earned four. The Patriot League recognized a total of 47 softball student-athletes for their academic success during the spring semester.
The academic honors are the not the first of the year for the 2010 Patriot League Champion Bison. Mary Pavlovich (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) and Sherry Finkel (Morgantown, W. Va./University) were both named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team in May, while Snyder was a Second Team selection.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must achieve a 3.2 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
