LEWISBURG, Pa. - The final edition of the 2009-10 academic year of Bison Magazine, a feature-heavy video segment on Bison Vision, is now available for viewing. Included in the third of three shows produced this year are features on the student-athlete calling program and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, as well as an interview with women's tennis senior Tania Varela detailing her recovery from a devastating 2006 auto accident.
The 7-minute, 27-second, Bison Magazine video piece is available to be viewed free of charge by clicking on the link at the top of this release, the front page of BucknellBison.com, or through the Bison Vision All-Access player.
The feature on the student-athlete calling program shows the Bison baseball team calling alumni and supporters of the program and includes interviews with junior pitcher Trey Frahler and head coach Gene Depew.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is profiled in the second segment and includes an interview with advisor Terrie Grieb as well as footage from a recent meeting.
Varela, who has won 15 consecutive singles matches and is a three-time All-Patriot League selection, was involved in an auto accident as a freshman, but overcame injuries to post one of the best careers ever by a Bison women's tennis player. An interview with her and video highlights of her play are showcased in the final segment of the episode.
Bison Magazine aired on Bison Vision three times this year and is expected to return in 2010-11. Highlight and interview packages, as well as live games, will continue to appear on Bison Vision on a regular basis. The next live broadcast will be Friday night's men's lacrosse game against Lehigh.
