Bucknell To Host Patriot League Women's Tennis Tournament This Weekend

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The No. 2 seeded Bucknell women's tennis team will be hosting the Patriot League Women's Tennis Tournament this weekend on the Fieldhouse Courts. This is the first time that the Bison will host the women's tennis tournament since 2001.
Matches will kick off on Friday, April 24, with fourth-seeded Holy Cross against fifth-seeded Colgate at 10 a.m. At 2 p.m. third-seeded Lehigh will contend with sixth-seeded Lafayette. On Saturday, at 10 a.m. top-seeded Army will play the winner of Friday's Holy Cross and Colgate match up and second-seeded Bucknell will play at 2 p.m. against the winner of the previous day's Lehigh and Lafayette contest. The championship match is slated for noon on Sunday.
This year, Bucknell is 14-6 overall and 3-1 in Patriot League play with one match remaining before the tournament begins. The Bison will have a home contest on Wednesday, April 22, at 4:30 p.m. on the Fieldhouse Courts against Bloomsburg.
Bucknell has not won the tournament since 1994. The Bison have made the finals for four straight years, all versus Army. The winner of the tournament receives a berth to the NCAA Championships.

Friday, April 24
Quarterfinal 1: No. 4 seed Holy Cross vs. No. 5 seed Colgate at 10 a.m.
Quarterfinal 2: No. 3 seed Lehigh vs. No. 6 seed Lafayette at 2 p.m.
Saturday, April 25
Semifinal 1: No. 1 seed Army vs. winner No. 4 seed Holy Cross / No. 5 seed Colgate at 10 a.m.
Semifinal 2: No. 2 seed Bucknell vs. winner No. 3 seed Lehigh / No. 6 seed Lafayette at 2 p.m.
Sunday, April 26
Championship Match at 12 p.m.
