Bucknell Women's Tennis to Host Fairleigh Dickinson Wednesday

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell's women's tennis team is looking to keep its momentum going Wednesday when it hosts Fairleigh Dickinson on the Fieldhouse Courts at 3 p.m.
The Bison haven't lost a match in their last three contests and have won each with a score of 7-0. Bucknell's overall record is 10-5 this spring. The Knights are now 4-11.
Bucknell Women's Tennis Notebook:
• Producing the most wins for the Bison in doubles has been the pairing of senior Paulina Gamboa (Mexico City, Mexico/Greengates School) and sophomore Lauren Lucido (Woodstock, Md./St. Paul's School For Girls). The two have produced a record of 8-1 this spring and 14-3 this year.
• Juniors Tania Varela (Quito, Ecuador/Alliance Academy) and Carlin Calcaterra (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) have not lost a match in five contests this spring in the second spot for the Bison in doubles (5-0).
• The Bison have six of their eight athletes this spring with winning records. Their collective record is 60-28.
• In singles play, Bucknell is led by freshman Dumitrita Iepuras (Chisinau, Moldova/Germantown Friends School), and sophomores Lauren Rottkamp (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) and Lauren Lucido (Woodstock, Md./St. Paul's School For Girls). Each has 11 victories this spring.
• With a win against the Knights, Bucknell will have tied its victory total from last year (11) and it will guarantee a winning record for the regular season.
• Between doubles and singles matches, Gamboa has played in 240 career contests, the most by an active Bison.
• Varela has the best career doubles record among current Bison (50-19). In singles, Iepuras has the best career winning percentage, going 19-3.
• Going into league play, Bucknell has produced the second-most overall wins among Patriot League teams. Army leads the league with 16 wins.
