Bucknell Men's Golf in Third After Round 1 of Hawk Invitational

LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- The Bucknell men's golf team put up five scores between 76 and 79 and the Bison are in third place after a round of 310 at the Hawk Invitational, hosted by Monmouth at Eagle Ridge GC. Brian Bartow (Rye, N.Y./Rye Neck) led the Bison with a 76.
Andrew Cohen (Mamaroneck, N.J./Mamaroneck) shot 77 for Bucknell, while Will Bachman (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) carded a 78 and Andrew Wallisch (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) and Ryan Schneiter (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) had 79s.
Bartow (T-7th) and Cohen (T-10th) are both in the top 10, with 18 holes still to come on Sunday.
Bucknell's 310 trails only Lafayette (301) and Sacred Heart (302) in the 12-team field. The Bison are one shot ahead of Fairleigh Dickinson and three in front of Quinnipiac.
Pat Fillian of Sacred Heart posted a 2-under-par 70 to take the individual lead. Rob Robertson of Lafayette is two strokes back.
