Bucknell Women's Tennis Blasts Mount St. Mary's 7-0

EMMITSBURG, Md. – With its second 7-0 victory in four days, the Bucknell women's tennis team defeated Mount St. Mary's and equaled its win total from last spring. The Bison are now 9-5 as the Mountaineers fall to 2-7.
Junior Tania Varela (Quito, Ecuador/Alliance Academy), sophomore Lauren Lucido (Woodstock, Md./St. Paul's School For Girls), senior Ashley Globerman (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown High School) and sophomore Dara Dwojewski (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) each tallied a victory in singles and doubles.
Junior Carlin Calcaterra (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) and senior Paulina Gamboa (Mexico City, Mexico/Greengates School) contributed with wins in doubles and freshman Dumitrita Iepuras (Chisinau, Moldova/Germantown Friends School) and sophomore Lauren Rottkamp (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) picked up wins in singles competition.
Gamboa and Lucido's victory over Emily Bolchoz and Emma Haley (8-3) in the first flight of doubles brought their season record to 7-1. Rottkamp's 6-0, 6-2 win in the fifth spot over Emily Grugan gives her a 10-1 record in singles play this season to lead the Bison. Varela and Calcaterra are now a perfect 4-0 when teaming up in doubles competition this spring.
Next up for the Bison is a match against NJIT, on Saturday, March 28, at 12 p.m., on the Fieldhouse Courts.
